 The biggest stakeholder For Rs. 5.2 billion, Fairfax acquires an extra 1.3% interest in JKH

The largest shareholder, Fairfax, acquired 230 million shares, or 1.3 percent, of the leading blue-chip company, John Keells Holdings PLC. As of the end of June 2025, Fairfax has a 24.2% investment in JKH through the HWIC Asia Fund.

237.3 million of JKH’s shares were exchanged for Rs. 5.5 billion on Monday, and the share price ended the day at Rs. 23, down 30 cents. The new stake was purchased by Fairfax for Rs. 23.20 per share.

Norges Bank Account 2, which held 422.8 million shares, or a 2.4% interest, as of the end of June 2025, was one of the biggest sellers.
