Ceylinco Life reports first-half of 2025 GWP income of Rs. 22.45 billion

Ceylinco Life announced yesterday that its first half of 2025 income was Rs. 36.5 billion, with Gross Written Premium (GWP) income of Rs. 22.45 billion.
According to the corporation, GWP income increased 12.5% over the same period last year for the six months ending June 30, 2025, while investment and other income for the same period came to Rs. 14.04 billion, resulting in a 7.3% increase in consolidated income.
As of June 30, 2025, total assets stood at Rs. 266.38 billion, up 5.9% or Rs. 14.94 billion over the previous six months, or Rs. 2.5 billion per month on average.
The Life Fund climbed by 7.6% to Rs. 194.7 billion, a growth of Rs. 13.8 billion since the end of 2024, while the company’s investment portfolio expanded by 6.77% to Rs. 237.5 billion during the same period.
For the six months under examination, Ceylinco Life paid policyholders Rs. 15.14 billion in net claims and payouts, an 8.3% rise over the first half of the previous year. For the six months, the company reported a net profit of Rs. 2.08 billion and a profit before taxes of Rs. 3.1 billion.
According to important financial statistics, Ceylinco Life’s basic earnings per share for the six months came to Rs. 41.63, and as of June 30, 2025, the net assets worth per share was Rs. 1,238.87, which represented a 9.1% increase.
Earlier this year, Brand Finance named the company the Most Valuable Insurance Brand in Sri Lanka and the 22nd Most Valuable Brand in the nation. In 2025, the company was also chosen as the People’s Life Insurance Service Provider of the Year for the 19th consecutive year. The International Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka (ICCSL) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) named Ceylinco Life one of the 10 Most Admired Companies in Sri Lanka in 2023, and it was recognized as Sri Lanka’s Brand of the Year in 2022 and 2023.
