Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts has appointed Hishan Singhawansa as its new CEO

Singhawansa, has worked for John Keells Group (JKH) for 17 years and has been appointed as its new CEO for Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts. The company has unveiled its plan to enhance the company’s position as a major contributor to Sri Lanka’s tourism industry and elevate the nation’s reputation as a world travel destination.

Newly opened Cinnamon Life is the largest development of its kind in South Asia and a historic $1.2 billion integrated resort in Colombo. Cinnamon Life is anticipated to generate 20,000 jobs and solidify Colombo as a regional MICE powerhouse among Singapore, Bangkok, and Dubai. It will have 687 rooms, more than 160,000 square feet of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) facilities for up to 5,000 guests, and a variety of residential, retail, dining, and entertainment options

In addition to infrastructure, Cinnamon is investing in developing talent through programs like EmpowHer, which make workplaces safer and more welcoming, and the Cinnamon Hospitality Academy, which aims to raise the percentage of women working in hospitality to at least 24% by 2025.
