Public float for The Kandy Hotels Co. increases to 23%

After non-public shareholders sold shares in the market last month, the public stake of The Kandy Hotels Co. (1938) PLC increased to 23 percent as of 1 September 2025 from 15.98 percent at the end of June.

The 7.02 percentage point increase follows Ambeon Holdings PLC’s August 21 purchase of a 6.09 percent share in the hotel operator for Rs. 550.8 million.

EKHO Surf, EKHO Lake House, the Lake Hotel, and the Suisse Hotel Kandy are among the properties owned by Kandy Hotels, a division of Ceylon Hotels Corporation PLC. The company’s shares finished at Rs. 17.90 yesterday, up 30 cents.
