Automobile Technologies Opens Sri Lanka’s First GAC Aion EV City Store at Colombo City Centre
Sri Lanka’s electric mobility landscape reached a new milestone with the grand opening of the first-ever GAC Aion EV City Store by Automobile Technologies (Pvt) Ltd. on 22 July 2025, at the prestigious Colombo City Centre Mall.
The launch event brought together distinguished guests, including Chandri Jayathilake, Director of Automobile Technologies, and Sri Lanka’s iconic musical duo Bathiya Jayakody and Santhush Weeraman (BnS), who were unveiled as official brand ambassadors of GAC Sri Lanka.

Representing the brand, Bathiya and Santhush emphasized how their values align with GAC’s vision of innovation and progress. In a symbolic highlight of the evening, Bathiya and Santhush personally handed over the keys of the very first GAC Aion vehicle in Sri Lanka to its inaugural customer.
