An additional 3 MW of sustainable energy is added to the national grid by Vidullanka’s Matara solar power facility
Vidullanka PLC recently announced the commissioning of a new 3 MW solar power plant through its subsidiary Vidul Matara Solar Power Ltd., as of September 19th. This plant is designed to produce about 5.5 GWh of clean energy annually, contributing to the national grid and reinforcing Vidullanka’s commitment to renewable energy. With this addition, the company now operates 24 power plants with a total capacity of 66 MW. This solar project is also the first completed from the 9 MW allocated to the group in accordance with the CEB’s 70 MW tender, adding to their tally of three commissioned solar plants this year, totaling 15 MW. A fourth solar project is in development, aligning with Vidullanka’s mission of promoting sustainable energy solutions.
