FACETS Sri Lanka 2026 Marks a Bold New Era at Cinnamon Life

FACETS Sri Lanka 2026, the nation’s most prestigious gem and jewellery exhibition, returns for its 32nd edition with a bold new identity and direction. Scheduled to take place from 3–5 January 2026 at The Forum, Cinnamon Life – City of Dreams, this year’s edition heralds a transformative moment for Sri Lanka’s gem and jewellery industry.

A Journey of Legacy and Transformation

Since its inception in 1991, FACETS has evolved from a niche industry showcase into an internationally recognised platform that connects Sri Lanka’s craftsmanship with the global gem trade. For over three decades, it has celebrated the island’s natural treasures — most notably the world-renowned Ceylon Sapphire — and the artistry of Sri Lanka’s master gem cutters and jewellers.

From early beginnings at the Hilton and BMICH, to Cinnamon Grand, and now to the futuristic spaces of Cinnamon Life, FACETS has mirrored the industry’s growth, ambition, and global outlook.

“FACETS has always been more than just an exhibition. It’s a celebration of Sri Lanka’s heritage, skill, and global ambition. FACETS 2026 marks a turning point — a new chapter that looks to the future while honouring everything that brought us here.”
Akram Cassim, President, Sri Lanka Gem and Jewellery Association (SLGJA)

Innovation, Sustainability, and the Brilliance of Sapphire

FACETS 2026 introduces a visionary concept that blends authenticity with innovation. The exhibition will take visitors on a “Mine to Market” journey, spotlighting the entire lifecycle of a gemstone — from sustainable mining practices to cutting-edge lapidary work, ethical sourcing, and contemporary jewellery design.

Highlights include:

  • Historical mining tools and practices
  • Displays of rough and polished stones
  • Innovations in gemstone cutting and design
  • VR experiences of Sri Lankan gem mines
  • Youth-focused showcases inspiring the next generation

“FACETS mirrors the heartbeat of our industry. This edition blends tradition with transformation. We’re not just exhibiting jewellery — we’re telling stories, inspiring futures, and elevating Sri Lanka’s position in the world gem arena.”
Armil Samoon, Chairman, FACETS 2026

Global Outlook, Local Legacy

With over 100 exhibitors — from established gem dealers and jewellery houses to rising designers — FACETS 2026 will showcase the diverse brilliance of Sri Lanka’s gem industry. The programme will also feature curated international buyer delegations and exclusive events such as Sapphire Night, Power Breakfast for Women of Influence, and High Tea Fashion Shows, blending business, culture, and creativity.

As Sri Lanka reclaims its position on the global stage, FACETS 2026 positions the island not just as a source of extraordinary gems, but as a hub of innovation, ethical craftsmanship, and timeless beauty.
