Sri Lanka FinTech Summit 2025: $500M FDI Push to Power Digital Economy
Sri Lanka is preparing to host one of its most ambitious financial technology gatherings yet — the Sri Lanka FinTech Summit 2025, scheduled for 24–25 September at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo.
Organised by Tecxa Pvt Ltd in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Economy, the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Hatton National Bank PLC (HNB), and the FinTech Forum of Sri Lanka, the Summit is expected to attract over 2,000 participants from 25+ countries, including 150+ global experts and speakers.
A Vision for a $15 Billion Digital Economy
Held under the theme “Empowering Sri Lanka’s Digital Economy: Innovations Driving Financial Inclusion and Growth”, the two-day event will serve as a critical platform to:
- Attract USD 500 million in annual FDI by 2030
- Support a roadmap to achieve 95% financial inclusion
- Contribute 3% to national GDP through FinTech
- Foster 200+ homegrown FinTech ventures by 2030
Deputy Minister of Digital Economy Eng. Eranga Weeraratne stated:
“Sri Lanka is at a defining moment in its digital transformation journey. Platforms like the Sri Lanka FinTech Summit 2025 are essential to unlock innovation, attract investment, and build tomorrow’s digital infrastructure with purpose and precision.”
Six Strategic Themes
The Summit will be structured around six core themes with breakout sessions across five dedicated stages:

- Financial Innovation and Inclusion
- Regulatory Compliance
- Investment, Start-ups & Ecosystem Growth
Delegates will include FinTech founders, regulators, policymakers, global investors, academia, and technology leaders.
Channa De Silva, Chairman of the FinTech Forum of Sri Lanka, added:
“The future of finance is digital. This Summit will establish robust regulatory frameworks, promote open banking protocols, and position Sri Lanka as South Asia’s digital finance hub.”

Ahead of the Summit, a special event was held at the ICTA Auditorium to launch the official website.
