On August 24, 2025, the skies above Galle Face Green will transform into a dazzling canvas of color and culture as Sri Lanka proudly hosts the Derana Colombo International Kite Festival 2025. What began in 2015 as part of the Lokaya Saha Lokayo program has now grown into a world-class festival. Over the years, the organizing team has represented Sri Lanka at prestigious kite festivals in Malaysia, Thailand, India, China, and France, building international recognition before returning home with their boldest edition yet.

The festival is jointly organized by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and Derana Media Network, under the Colombo Destination Branding Project.
